Vermont Festival of the Arts

The Warren Public Library has scheduled the following VT Festival of the Arts - Mystery Series events on August 6, 13, 20 & 27 (Thursdays) at 7PM:

-  August 6            Examine Mark Twain’s novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer;

-  August 13         Solve theatrical puzzles with a play, “Murder at the Banquet:

-  August 20         Interview ARCHER MAYOR, a VT crime writer and winner of the 2004 New England Book Award for Best Fiction; and

-  August 27         Witness all the action in the VT-based movie, “Stranger in the Kingdom.”

All library programs are free, but due to limited seating we are requesting seat reservations for each “festival” event.  Please call the Warren Library at 496-3913 or Gail Hietzker at 583-1935 for additional information and/or to make seat reservations.

Book/Movie Discussion Series

The Warren Public Library will be offering a Book/Movie Discussion Series during Summer-2009.  Please check out the following schedule and call Gail Hietzker at 583-1935 or the Warren Library at 496-3913 for additional information.

-  June 18, “West Side Story” (movie) at WPL – 7PM;

- June 25, Romeo and Juliet (book) at WPL – 7PM;

- July 2, “Romeo and Juliet”(movie) at WPL – 7PM;

- July 30, “The Adventures of  Tom Sawyer” (movie) at WPL – 7PM;

- August 6, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (book) at WPL – 7PM;

- September 10, “Cider House Rules” (movie) at WPL – 7PM; and

- September 17, Cider House Rules (book) at WPL – 7PM.

All library programs are offered free of charge.

Warren Public Library’s Big Move

On Saturday, May 30th, the WPL is making its big move into the Warren Town Hall.  Many books and all of the new furnishings will already be installed at the new location by the time our group starts the human book chain.  We hope Mother Nature smiles on us that day, since The Friends of WPL are planning a BBQ to feed all movers.  The old WPL will be closed from May 25 (Monday) through May (Saturday) due to the move, so visit us before May 25 and check your books for 3 weeks.  Our new library’s official opening day is Monday. June 1, 2009.

New Story Hour Schedule

Story Hour Returns to Wednesdays!

 Starting June 24, 2009, Story Hour will be on Wednesday, at 10 a.m., at the new Warren Town Hall library location.

Craft Group – Wednesdays at 7 pm – Every other week

The craft group meets every other Wednesday at 7 pm to share handwork and chat. Schedule for the next few meetings:
